The backbone of the 2011 Global Study on Homicide, UNODC Homicide Statistics is a collection of statistical data on intentional homicide (unlawful death purposefully inflicted on a person by another person). The dataset covers 207 countries and territories and provides data on homicide levels, trends and contextual characteristics drawn from a variety of national and international sources relating to homicide.

The victims of crime survey is the first national survey of its kind in South Africa. A countrywide,
household-based survey, it examines crime from the point of view of the victim. While surveys of
crime victims cannot replace police statistics, they can provide a rich source of information which
will assist in the planning of crime prevention.

On a rating scale of low, medium, high, and critical, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town are rated "critical" for crime.

CRIME REPORT 2011/2012 SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICE
The present report deals with the reported national serious crime figures and ratios for the 2011/2012 year
financial year (that is the period 1 April 2010 - 31 March 2011). These are compared to the figures
recorded during the preceding financial years since 2003/2004. The provincial crime figures are also
analysed in more detail and some comments made on aspects influencing the crime situation. More
detailed crime figures and maps are provided on the SAPS website at www.saps.gov.za.

It`s been estimated that SA has lost R650-billion to corruption over the last 18 years.
More than 2 million crimes were reported by the SAPS for the twelve months between 2010/2012.
Nearly 16000 people were murdered in SA in the twelve months between 2011/2012.
KZN is the highest murder province in South Africa. Then the Eastern Cape followed by Gauteng .
Over 400 drug related crimes reported daily.
Mitchells Plain in the Western Cape reports the more crime than any other precinct in the country.

I see myself rather as a concerned citizen of the once prosperous country called South Africa. A mere 20 years ago this country was considered one of the safest in the world. Today, after 20 years of ANC rule, we are considered the Rape and Murder Capital of the World where a woman is raped every 4 minutes and at least 18 000 people are murdered every year. The White population of South Africa, now just over 4 million of more than 50 million, have been placed on Level 6 of a possible 8 of full scale Genocide. In the words of another, well known Artist & Activist Steve Hofmeyr: “My Tribe is dying like flies!” South Africa, once a net exporter of food, now has to import food to maintain its growing population while our farmers are being murdered at the rate of 1 every 6 days and the Government is carrying out a policy of Land Reform that has proved to be absolutely disastrous! Soon we will be just another African Begging Bowl in need of handouts from the rest of the world and YOU will be paying for it! Die ruiter van Skimmelperdpan

Op die pad wat verdwyn in die Skimmelperdpan,
By ‘n draai in die mond van die kloof,
Het ‘n bom in die oorlog ‘n vlugtende man
Op ‘n perd soos ‘n swaardslag onthoof.

Aan die saalboom krampagtig die hande verstyf,
Met ‘n laaste stuiptrekkende krag,
En die bene geklem soos ‘n skroef om sy lyf,
Op die perd sit die grusame vrag.

Met sy neusgate wyd en die ore op sy nek,
Soos die wind yl verbysterd die dier,

DIE VIERKLEUR

GESKIEDENIS (1857 - vandag) In 1855 is 'n komitee benoem om 'n grondwet en vlag vir Transvaal saam te stel. Op die komitee het o.a. gedien Jacobus Stuart as voorsitter met Ds. Dirk van der Hoff in 'n raadgewende hoedanigheid asook ’n jong seun met die naam Paul Kruger as lid van die komitee. In 'n onderhoud wat gevoer is met 'n dogter van Martinus van der Hoff, broer van Ds. Van der Hoff, het sy onthul dat die Vierkleur deur haar pa en Jacobus Stuart ontwerp is in opdrag van bogenoemde komitee. Volgens haar het haar vader hierdie gebeurtenis persoonlik aan haar meegedeel. Die vlag is dus deur Ds. vd Hoff se broer ontwerp en nie deur homself soos deur verskeie ander bronne aangegee nie. Die groen vertikale baan wat deur Van der Hoff en Stuart aangebring is, was om goeie hoop te simboliseer. Aan Sy Majesteit, die koning van Nederlande, skryf Pres. Pretorius op 10 Januarie 1857: Onze vlag is boven rood, midden wit, onder blaauw horisontaal en eene groene strook ter halver breedte an eene der drie kleuren, langs den stok perpendicular, aan deze vasgehecht. “Ons het goeie hoop, dat ons, met God se hulp in die reinheid en suiwerheid van bedoelings ons vryheid sal behou, en bid tot God dat geen menslike mag hierdie vryheid van ons sal ontneem nie! Op 6 Januarie 1857 is die vlag amptelik in gebruik geneem. Die Volksraad bekragtig dit dan ook met hierdie bewoording: "Is besloten dat eene vlag voor de Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek aangenomen zal worden, bestaande uit de volgende kleuren: Rood, Wit en Blaauw, horizontaal - even breed en boven elkanderen gesteld en groen perpendiculair langs den stok”. Daarop zullen de woorden geplaatst worden; “EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT” Die bepaling dat hierdie woorde op die groen baan geplaas moet word is later verander deur die woorde op die leuselint onderaan die staatswapen te plaas.
